BHF Policy Officer vacancy

The British Heart Foundation is seeking an experienced Policy Officer to join our award-winning Policy and Advocacy Team.

The primary function of the Policy Officer role is to provide expert briefings on a range of medical research, treatment and heart health issues and help to maintain the BHF’s position as the leading heart charity in the UK. You will also be required to prepare responses to consultations, provide an external environment scanning service within a defined number of portfolio areas and provide research and advice to support strategic planning and external communication initiatives.

You will have strong experience in policy development, proven complex problem solving skills and first-class interpersonal communication skills to influence, persuade and present to a wide audience. Your background will ideally be from a science or medical research perspective with a sound knowledge of the health sector and key issues it faces. Most importantly, you will have a desire to make your mark on UK health policy.

Closing date: 23 July 2009, full information and how to apply at https://jobs.bhf.org.uk/BHF/Vacancies/VacancyDetails.asp?VacancyID=38
